They originated in the area of the Alps in Swtizerland. They were bred as farm dogs to pull carts, and rescue dogs for travelers on what is known now as The Great St. Bernard Pass between Switzerland and Italy. Read More Grooming & Maintenance Grooming requirements depends on the legnth of their coat. Smooth coats should to be brushed once a week, while long coats require more grooming.
